Most feedback loops are broken. People talk. We nod. We move on.
But real growth—especially in product, org design, or team dynamics—starts with better listening.
That’s why I keep this Listening Framework in my back pocket. It’s simple, it’s circular (because listening is ongoing), and it actually works.
Here’s the breakdown:
🔍 WHAT WAS DONE
Start here. Before suggesting changes, understand the scope of what exists.
🧠 WHY WAS IT DONE
Intent matters. Learn the motivation behind decisions—there’s always context that changes how you respond.
🛠 HOW WAS IT DONE
Get tactical. Know the method used so you’re not solving the wrong problem in the wrong way.
😬 WHAT STILL SUCKS
Be honest. This is where we find the opportunity. Listening isn’t about surface fixes—it’s about uncovering friction.
🔧 HOW WILL FIXING HELP
Don’t change things just to say you did. Focus on impact. Ask: Will this fix move us forward in a meaningful way?
This framework works everywhere: product reviews, team retros, partner debriefs, even community engagement. And when paired with AI tools or ops automation, it becomes a powerful diagnostic loop.
Remember—listening isn’t just soft skills. It’s your strategy.
